Mrs. Fedelia Corn Wood

Mrs. Fedelia Corn Wood, age 86, of Spencer, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the Salem Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Patrick County on Feb. 12, 1931 to the late Samuel Corn and Mary Campbell Corn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Richard Wood, Sr.; a son, Samuel Richard Wood, Jr.; one sister, Jewel; and two brothers, Ervin and Akers. Mrs. Wood was a member of Stuart Primitive Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Spencer Scales and John of Martinsville; three grandchildren, Joseph Spencer and wife, Kenyatta, Jason Spencer and wife, Dana, Justin Spencer and wife, Amanda; nine great grandchildren, Joshua, Joel, Brayden, Harley, Paydence, Brooke, Haden, Jonathan and Victoria.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Gleason Worrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Russell Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Carolyn Scales, 1206 Oakgrove Ave., Martinsville, VA 24112.
