Mrs. Florence Smith Jessup

Mrs. Florence Smith Jessup, age 82, of Mt. Airy, NC, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016, at her home. She was born February 15, 1934 in Patrick County, VA, to the late George and Evie Culler Smith. She was a homemaker and loved her family dearly and attended Temple Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Jessup; four sons, Gary Dale Jessup, Wayne Larry Jessup, Junior Lee Jessup and Franklin Jessup . Surviving are her daughter, Pamela Jessup of Mt. Airy, NC; son, Dwayne Jessup of Mt. Airy, NC; caregiver, Tristan Slawter of the home; and four grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Goldie Seymore of Stanleyville, NC and Ann and Wilford McCraw of Mt. Airy, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Dallion and Carolyn Smith of Mt. Airy, NC. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 1, 2016, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, NC. Rev. Zane Fishel and Rev. Jacob Flippen will be conducting the services. Burial will be in the Unity Presbyterian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Moody-Davis Funeral Home.
