Mrs. Frances Bunker

Mrs. Carolyn Frances Thomas Bunker, age 72, of Pilot Mountain, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Central Continuing Care surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Bunker was born on August 10, 1945 in Surry County to the late Calvin and Annie Mae Sprinkle Thomas. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Mrs. Bunker was a Dental Assistant for over 48 years and a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 55 years, Wayne Eng Bunker of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Engle and Brad Corn of Ararat, VA, and Betsy and Scott Baird of Mount Airy; three precious grandchildren, Elizabeth Corn Bowers and husband Riley of Hope Mills, NC, and Foster and Finley Baird of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Charlie Shore of Winston-Salem; a brother and sister-in-law, Wade and Dawn Thomas of Raleigh; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bunker was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Thomas Gravley; and a brother, Roger Thomas. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Salem Baptist Church in Dobson with the Rev. Jay Worsley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
