Mrs. Frances Cassell Chaney

Mrs. Frances Cassell Chaney, age 73 of Patrick Springs, went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on May 1, 1943 to the late Otis and Geneva Craig Cassell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chaney was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Cassell. She was a longtime member of Goodwill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Chaney is survived by her husband of 55 years, Alfred Davis Chaney of the home; a daughter, Janet Bishop and her husband, Pastor David Bishop, Sr. of Patrick Springs; a son, Steve Chaney of Bassett; three grandchildren, David Bishop, Jr., Mandy Flaneary and Kevin Chaney; two great-grandchildren, Bradley Chaney and Emmalynn Chaney; six brothers, Claude Cassell of Bassett, Coy Cassell of Bassett, Douglas Cassell of Patrick Springs, Jimmy Cassell of Franklin County, Donnie Cassell of Patrick Springs and David Cassell of Bassett; three sisters, Shirleen McAllister of Bassett, Virginia Dale Snow of Mount Airy, North Carolina and Patricia Sowers of Fieldale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Goodwill Baptist Church with Pastor David Bishop, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Cassell Family Cemetery in Patrick Springs. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church, and at other times at the home.
