Mrs. Frances Estelle Akers Davis

Mrs. Frances Estelle Akers Davis, 70, of Elkin passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Botetourt County, VA on August 2, 1942 to the late Thurmond and Eliza Myers Akers. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Joseph Edward, Jr. and wife Joyell Davis of Dobson, Theodore Osborn and wife Kathy Davis of FL; two adopted sons, Ernest Avery of Pfafftown and James Anderton of Boonville; five grandchildren, Debra Lynn and husband Brandon Burdette, Melissa Ann Davis and fiancé, Brian Slack, Hayley Elizabeth Davis, Joseph Edward Davis, Jr. and Yasmeen Davis; a sister, Linda Myers of Roanoke, VA; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Raymond Akers, of Roanoke, VA and Houston and wife Daisy Myers of Level Cross and Christine Myers also of Level Cross. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alfred "Buddy" Davis, Jr. and six siblings. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Moody-Davis Funeral Home with her funeral service to follow. Burial will be on Friday at 1 pm at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
