Mrs. Frances Lou Seal Hodges, age 79 of Dobson, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 30, 2011. Mrs. Hodges was born in Surry County on January 21, 1932 to the late Oscar and Della Jane Jones Seal. She retired from Proctor Silex and was member of Central View Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Hodges is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah Lou and Rodney L. Whitaker and Cindy Jane and Destry L. Isaacs all of Dobson; four grandchildren, Jason White and wife, Christina, Robert White and wife, Leanna and Erica and Brandon Isaacs; three great-grandchildren, Emileigh Edwards, Zella White and Baden White; a sister, Ella Drucilla "Alice" Seal Cave of Dobson; two aunts, Lizzie Hawks and Jose Seal both of Mt. Airy; a special sister-in-law, Gloria McCann and husband, Authur Gray of Mt. Airy; and a sister-in-law, Norma Seal of Dobson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Edward "Snook" Hodges; a daughter, Judy Dean Hodges and sons, Ronnie Edward and Johnny Ray Hodges. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Central View Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Travis Chipman with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Monday, August 1, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM where her body will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
