Mrs. Frances Wood Jones

Mrs. Frances Wood Jones, 89, of Mt. Airy, NC passed away on Tuesday morning November 12, 2013 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Surry County on February 14, 1924 to the late Walter Earon and Mammie Amanda Poteat Wood. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ira Vestal Jones; two sisters Betty Ann Wood and Vivian Amanda Nesseth; two brothers Charles Walter Wood and John Walter Wood. Surviving are her daughter Susan E. Jones of Mt. Airy, NC; son and daughter-in-law David and Beverly Jones of Lowgap, NC; two granddaughters Ashley and Justin Snider of Long Island, NY and Whitney Jones of Clark N.J.; two nephews Jimmy Nesseth and Michael Nesseth both of Colorado. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Thursday November 14, 2013 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with burial to follow in the Eebenzer Methodist Church Cemetery in Elkin, NC. Rev. Terry Coe will conduct the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:30 P.M., until time of her Service at 2:00 P.M.
