Mrs. Georgia Marie Lawson Shelton

Mrs. Georgia Marie Lawson Shelton, age 91 of Danbury NC, formerly of Stuart, VA passed away on January 31, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She was born in Stokes County, NC on May 2, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Goode Shelton; her parents, Willie Everett and Martha Jane McHone Lawson; and a brother, Billie A. Lawson.

Mrs. Shelton is survived by a daughter, Kathy Young and husband, Randy; a granddaughter, Jill Rininger and husband, Derrick; a great-granddaughter Addison Rininger, all of Danbury, NC; a sister-in-law, Jane Moorefield Shelton of Stuart, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews and her faithful furbaby, Daisy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart. Burial will follow in Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service. She was such an animal lover, so in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friends of Stokes Shelter, Inc., P.O.
