Mrs. Geraldine C. Sears

Mrs. Geraldine Crawford Sears, age 92 of Stuart passed away Saturday at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. She was born in Salem on Jan. 10, 1919 to the late William H. and Lula Crawford. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ammon Sears; and a daughter, Carolyn Sears Dance. Mrs. Sears was a former youth leader and member of Stuart Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Suzanne "Sue" Bledsoe of Blackstone, VA; Seven grandchildren, John, Suzanne, Elizabeth, Kelly, Scott, Mark, and Stuart; Nine great grandchildren; and three sisters, Carolyn Ferris of Gainesville, GA, Betty Thompson of Columbus, OH, and Martha Crawford of Lexington, KY.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Stuart Presbyterian Church with Revs. Bucky Hunsicker and Jim Churchwell officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stuart Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P O Box 944, Stuart, VA 24171.
