Mrs. Gertrude Mae Copeland McRoberts

Mrs. Gertrude Mae Copeland McRoberts, age 97 of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Golden Living Center. Mrs. McRoberts was born in Wythe County, May 16, 1914 to Frank and Emma Collins Copeland. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her dear family and friends. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Allene and Bobby Love; Geraldine McRoberts; Evie and Jimmy Riggs all of Mt. Airy; and Marie Chilton of Poughkeepsie, NY; sons and a daughter-in-law, Irving McRoberts of Pinnacle and Junior and Kathy McRoberts of Mt. Airy; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McRoberts was preceded in death by her husband, Jonah McRoberts and thirteen siblings and a daughter-in-law, Nancy McRoberts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tim Burton. Burial will follow in Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home and at other times at Mrs. McRoberts home.
