Mrs. Gladys Corder Bledsoe

Mrs. Gladys Corder Bledsoe, age 94, of Dobson, North Carolina, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday evening December 30, 2017. She was born on November 2, 1923 to the late Walter Ford Corder and the late Ella Layne Corder. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, Rev. Robert Rufus Bledsoe. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, friend and neighbor, a member of Fairview Baptist Church, and was retired from Hemmings Rest Home. Surviving are her two daughters and sons in-law, Vickie and Jesse Burleson of Dobson, Donna and Greg Journey of Dobson; a special grandson who was the light of her life, Ben Journey; double first cousin and special friend, Geneva “Top” Bullen of Elkin; and special friend, Freda White of Dobson. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday January 2, 2018 in the chapel of Fairview Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, Rev. J.V. Lowe, Rev. Lee Johnson, Rev. Tony White and Donnie Poplin. The family will receive friends at Fairview Baptist Church from1:00 P.M. Until the time of her service at 2:00 P.M..
