Mrs. Gladys Barnard Durham

Mrs. Gladys Barnard Durham, age 93 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at the UAB Hospital's Palliative Care Unit in Birmingham, Alabama. She was born in Carroll County on February 16, 1916 to the late John Robert Barnard and Sarah Alice Cruise Barnard. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Durham was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lee Durham; one brother, Lucian Barnard; and two sisters, Dorothy Terry and Delsie Conway. She was a member of Harris Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Durham is survived by two daughters, Carol Ann Durham of Helena, Alabama and Nora Durham Mandoki of Gulf Shores, Alabama; two grandsons, Stephen Damsgard and Ralph W. Damsgard, both of Helena; three great-grandchildren, William H. Damsgard, Thomas M. Damsgard and Britton N. Damsgard, all of Helena; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Durham will be held Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Shockley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery.
