Mrs. Gladys Hazel King Robertson

Mrs. Gladys Hazel King Robertson, 92 of Cana, VA went home to be with her Heavenly Father Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on January 8, 1924 to the late Hosea and Virginia Elizabeth Leonard King. She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife and sister. She was well known for her beautiful handmade quilts. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters and sons-in-law, Carrie and Cliff Milan of High Point, Gladys and Wayne Berrier of Cana, a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Esther Robertson of Cana; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Annie Mae Thomas. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by her husband, Hillary Benton “Red” Robertson; an infant son, Larry; sisters, Margie Faye Beck, Vada Tate, Nellie Edwards and Frankie Tate; a brother, Robert King. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Bledsoe and Rev. Jason Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at New Bethel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
