Mrs. Gladys Gates Winkler

Mrs. Gladys Estelle Winkler, 92, cherished wife of Charles H. Winkler, passed gently from this life on the evening of Oct 30,2011. She leaves behind two loving children, a son, Stephen M. Winkler and his wife Janet of Satillo Mississippi, and a daughter, Stacey D. Wood and her husband Jeff of Asheville NC. She was greatly loved not only by her family but all that met her in their community. She also leaves behind 2 nephews, Leonard Woodward and David Woodward and their families. A special thanks to Dr Ballard and all of his practice at Jonesville Family Medicine for the great care they gave to her and a heartfelt gratitude to all those involved at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center for the loving care they provided to Gladys and her family during her short stay with them. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorial contributions be made in Gladys' name to Ebenezer Christian Children's Home, P.O. Box 277, North Wilkesboro, NC, 28659.
There will be no formal services. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is assisting the family.
