Mrs. Gladys Johnson Woodring

Gladys Virginia Johnson Woodring, age 88, of Dobson, NC, Went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning March 17, 2012 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC . She was born in Surry County on April 14, 1923 to the late Dillard Isaac Johnson and to the late Mallie Jane White Johnson. She was retired from Perry Manufactory and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Carl Woodring; one brother Clarence Johnson; one sister Kathleen Wolfe, brothers-in-law Frank Willey, Nelson Tucker. Surviving are her three sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Patricia Woodring of Kernersville, Dennis and Karen Woodring of Elkin, Terry and Teresa Woodring of Dobson; grandchildren Jennifer Woodring, Melissa and Todd Jessup, Ashley Woodring, Joshua and Allie Woodring, Brien Woosley; great grandchildren Brayden Woodring, Cooper Woodring, Carla Woodring, Gage Jessup, Keira Jessup, Caleigh Rae Woodring, Chase Woosley; sisters Pansy Davis of High Point, NC, Betty Johnson of High Point, NC, Estelle Tucker of Winston-Salem, NC, Josephine Willey of Ten.; brothers and sisters-in-law Cecil and Sally Johnson, of Winston-Salem, Jay and Lois Johnson, of Dobson; brother-in-law Billy Wolfe of Dobson. Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 AM March 19, 2012 at Fairview Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Andy Atkins and Rev. Larry Stone will conduct the services. Her body will remain at the funeral home until carried to the church to lie in state 30 Min. before the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Sunday from 6 until 8 PM.
