Mrs. Gracie East

Mrs. Gracie Vipperman East, age 82 of Vipperman Avenue, Stuart, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Home in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on September 4, 1925 to the late Noah and Tildie Pack Vipperman. In addition to her parents, Mrs. East was preceded in death by a son, Sam Junior East, and an infant son; two sisters Mindy Hiatt and Elsie Queen; and five brothers, Elzie, John, Jim, Joe and William Vipperman. She was retired from the housekeeping department at RJ Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital, and was a member of Patrick Springs Church of God of Prophecy.
Mrs. East is survived by her husband, Sam East of the home; her daughter-in-law, Francis East of Stuart; two grandchildren, James Timothy East and wife, Elizabeth, of Stuart, and Charles Edward East of Stuart; and one great-grandchild, James Dakota East.
Funeral services for Mrs. East will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Abiding Grace Church with Pastors Dale Bailey, Jim Vipperman and J. R. Vipperman. Burial will follow in the Hooker Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the church.
