Mrs. Hallie Mae Dockery O'Shea

Mrs. Hallie Mae Dockery O’Shea, 90 years young and born in Zephyr, NC, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, July 19, 2016. She was born April 13, 1926 to the late Alvin and Monnie Shinault Dockery. She later attended Pfeiffer Junior College, and went on to earn a degree in drama from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, she met her husband, Ted, with whom she lived in Buffalo, NY for many years. Hallie had a passion for the arts, and was able to live out that passion acting in local theater. She was a member of the Amherst Players Theater Group, and served as the director of the Harlem Road Community Center. Hallie was a beautiful, spirited and generous woman who was always helping others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was absolutely adored by every person that had the privilege of meeting her. She leaves behind an incredible legacy of love and inspiration. In addition to her parents, Hallie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kelly O’Shea, Jr.; two sons, Edward Kelly O’Shea, III and Michael Patrick O’Shea; one sister, Vickie Hayes; three brothers, Gilmer Dockery, Tommy Dockery, and Phil Dockery.
