Mrs. Hattie Lane Cooper

Mrs. Hattie Lane Cooper, age 84 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Stantonsburg, N.C. on December 21, 1926 to the late John Haywood and Ora Lee Thompson Lane. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt, friend and English teacher. She was a devoted member of both Stuart United Methodist Church and Stantonsburg United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Lane and Louisa Lane Howard.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband of 51 years, Philip George Cooper of Stuart; a brother and sister-in-law, John Haywood Lane, Jr. and wife, Carolyn of Cary, North Carolina, and many loving family members and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cooper will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 3:00pm at Stuart United Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Critz Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart.
