Mrs. Hazel Peele Boyd

Mrs. Hazel Peele Boyd, age 91, of Siloam, NC passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy, NC. She was born in Surry County on March 25, 1926 to the late William Henderson Peele and the late Siney Ellar Childress Peele. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren G. Boyd; grandchild, Christopher Shane Boyd, great-great grandchild Jenna Lynn Gammons; brothers, Paul Peele, Wilbur Peele. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and was retired from Amos and Smith Hosiery. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Wallace Gammons of Jonesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Granvel and Brenda Boyd of Ronda, Alan and Sue Boyd of Siloam; five grandchildren, Amanda and Chris Denny, Melissa Joyner, Brian and Andi Gammons, Travis and Meria Boyd, Tealisha and Travis Shreve; eleven great-grandchildren, Christa and Jordan Weatherman, Brenna and Jonathan Mabe, Maranda Denny, Blane Joyner, Luke and Ashley Joyner, Layla Gammons, Levi Gammons, Titus Shreve, Tayden Shreve, Lillian Boyd, Ellie Boyd; three great-great grandchildren Levi Mabe, Emery Weatherman, Ellysyn Weatherman; friend and sister-in-law, Josephine Norman. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Joey Wall will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
