Mrs. Hazel Irene McKinney Lowe

Mrs. Hazel Irene McKinney Lowe, age 91, of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017, at Northern Hospital. Mrs. Lowe was born in Roane County, TN, on May 25, 1926 to Willis and Essie Mee McKinney. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Caviness and Jack of Greensboro, Mary Norton and Roger of Lowgap, Sharon Davis and Buster of Mt. Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald Lee and Linda of Mt. Airy; Nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Louise Roberts of Harriman, TN; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lowe was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lowe; a daughter, Lois Bateman; a son, R.K. Lowe; a great granddaughter, Amy Shore; brothers, Howard, Clarence, Paul, Orville, Jack, and J.D. McKinney. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 20, 2017 at moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Hooker, Rev. Thomas Slate, and Dr. David Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Crooked Oak Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
