Mrs. Hazel Lorraine Smith Semones

Mrs. Hazel Lorraine Smith Semones, 86 formerly of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home Inman, SC. Mrs. Semones was born on April 10, 1925 in Patrick County, VA to the late Roscoe and Maggie Boyd Smith. She retired from Adam Mills. Mrs. Semones is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gary Wofford of Spartanburg, SC and Becky and Steve McKnight of Mars Hill, NC; grandchildren and spouses, Donna and Joe Wofford, Sandy and Tom King all of Spartanburg and Alen and Kim McKnight of Cary; great grandchildren, Kyle Wofford, Amanda Wofford, Matthew King and Joshua King all of Spartanburg, Emma McKnight and Jeffrey McKnight of Cary; great-great grandchild, Braxton Wofford of Spartanburg; sister, Helen Tate of Mt. Airy; brothers and sister-in-law, Stewart and Harriet Smith, and Donald E. and Betty Smith all of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Semones was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Asa Semones. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert McCrary officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
