Mrs. Helen M. Harris Starr

Mrs. Helen Morene Harris Starr, age 95, passed away peacefully at Golden Living Nursing Center, Mt. Airy, NC on Thursday, June 9, 2016. She was born in Surry County, NC on June 3, 1921 to the late Watson and Ina Harris. She was a retired nursing assistant and attended Haymore Memorial Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Starr, her daughter, Sandra Gail Starr and her son, Jerry Starr. Surviving are her grandsons, Lee Starr of Wilkesboro, NC; Scott Jones of Wilkesboro, NC and Chris Jones of Mt. Airy, NC. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Skyline Memory Gardens in Mt. Airy, NC. There will be no other services held at the funeral home. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Starr family.
