Mrs. Helen Foley Stowe

Mrs. Helen Foley Stowe, age 87 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on June 17, 1923 to the late William Maynard Foley and Bertie Yates Foley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stowe was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Stowe. She had been a member of Stuart Presbyterian Church since 1954 where she served as a Sunday school teacher, youth director and historian. She also was a member of the Women of the Church.
Mrs. Stowe is survived by her son, James "Jimmy" Stowe and his wife, Othelia, of Stuart; two grandchildren, Jeryl Stowe, and wife, Shannon, of Stuart and Jeffrey Stowe of Chesapeake; two great-granddaughters, Madison Grace Stowe and Kaitlyn Faith Stowe; and several cousins.
A graveside service for Mrs. Stowe will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Patrick Memorial Gardens with Dr. Bucky Hunsicker and Rev. Jack Foley officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time to proceed to the cemetery.
