Mrs. Hilda Ruth Hubbard

Mrs. Hilda Ruth Hubbard, age 70 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009 at her home. She was born in North Carolina on July 23, 1938 to the late Horace and Lucille Colville. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hubbard was preceded in death by one son, Jesse Horace Hubbard, and a brother, Horace Colville.
Mrs. Hubbard is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jesse Willard Hubbard, of the home; five sons, Edward Lee Hubbard of Stuart, Sam Willard Hubbard of Patrick Springs, Charlie Lowell Hubbard of Stuart, William Willard Hubbard of Bassett, and Billy William Hubbard of Stuart; six daughters, Lucille Elgin Hubbard, Joyce Faye Rodgers, Ruth Ann Massey, Hope Ann Hubbard and Betsy Belle Hubbard, all of Stuart, and Judy Hubbard Joyce of Meadows of Dan; seventeen grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Frances Stewart of Dunn, North Carolina.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hubbard will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Mike Sutphin officiating. Burial will follow in the Hubbard Family Cemetery.
