Mrs. Ilene Roark Pittis

Mrs. Ilene Roark Pittis, age 67, of Stuart, Virginia passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. She was born in Patrick County on August 22, 1949 to the late Clyde Roark and Hadie Hutchens Roark. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth W. Steele; a grandson, Jesse Dale Steele; and two brothers, Herman and Raford Roark. Ilene was a true Christian woman and prayer warrior. She loved her pastor and her church family at Middle Cross Missionary Baptist Church; where she was a member. She loved to make crafts and she was an excellent cook. She was a salt of the earth type of person, genuine, and loving, but to her family she was much more, a devoted wife, loving mother, and a wonderful grandmother; who will be always be remembered for her love of family and her strong faith in the Lord.

Mrs. Pittis is survived by her loving husband, Bob Pittis and grandson, Dilan Steele, both of the home; a son, Randy Steele and wife, Angie of Lawsonville, North Carolina; grandchildren: Courtney Williams, Cheyenne Holcomb, Kody Steele, Jacob Steele, Brandi Cooper, Gwen Martin, Devin Steele, Briana Steele, Sadie Steele, Miranda Steele, Katie Steele, and Dilan Steele; great grandchildren: Wesley Williams, Rowan Williams, Dawson Williams, Braylon Arrington, and Brody Martin; a brother, Jesse Roark of Martinsville; a sister, Ruth Handy of Moorefield Store, two sisters-in-law, Shirley Roark of Spencer and Mickey Gross of Ohio; several nieces and nephews; a special caregiver, Christy Smith of Stuart; and her beloved canine companions, Rosco and Abby Pittis.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pittis will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Middle Cross Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Morrison officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the church.
