Mrs. Imogene McBride Collins

Mrs. Imogene McBride Collins, 70, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Surry County on November 14, 1946 to the late Joe and Myrtle Hawks McBride. Mrs. Collins retired from Renfro and attended Bottom Road Tabernacle. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Dale and Angie Collins of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Amanda and Jeremy Sams of Mt. Airy, Ricky Dustin Collins and Fiancée, Stephanie Dehart of Florence, KY, Christopher Collins and Stephanie Hancock of Lexington; seven great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Bobby Burkhart, and Alene Jarrell all of Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy McBride of KY, C. J. and Thelma McBride, Johnny and Debbie McBride all of Mt. Airy; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Junior Collins ; a son, Randy Collins; sisters, Ruth McCraw, Josephine Leonard, Sarah Jackson, Maybell Coalson, Deena Freeman; a brother, Fred McBride. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Coalson, and the Rev. Jimmy McCraw officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
