Mrs. Irene Gray Dalton

Mrs. Irene Gray Dalton, age 93 of Westfield, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at her home. She was born in Stokes County, North Carolina on April 23, 1914 to the late William Edgar "Babe" Gray and Laura Slate Gray. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dalton was preceded in death by her husband, William Glenn Dalton; one son, Jimmy Dalton; five brothers, Ervin, Lloyd, Noel, Guy and Raymond Gray; and one sister, Lena Mitchell. She attended Stateline Primitive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Dalton is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Jimmy DeHart of Westfield; four sons and daughters-in-law, Charles E. and Shelby Dalton of Stuart, Bobby G. and Faye Dalton of Westfield, Carroll and Shirley Dalton of Westfield and David L. and Pam Dalton of Sparta, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Hill of Westfield; and one brother, Johnnie Gray of Westfield.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dalton will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Stateline Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Tracey Collins and Terry Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalton Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home of Stuart and at other times at the homeplace.
