Mrs. Irene Wimbish Taylor, age 92 of Patrick Springs, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on September 8, 1920 to the late Howard and Lucy Shough Wimbish. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Benjamin Taylor; one grandson, Stacy Trent; one son-in-law, Henderson Harbour; four brothers, Otis, Van, Vivian and Paris Wimbish; and two sisters, Lola Wimbish and Lillian Fulcher. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church, and had retired from United Elastic with 25 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita Harbour of Stuart, Vernel and Maynard Trent of Patrick Springs, Elinor and Leon Handy of Patrick Springs; a son, Wayne Taylor of Patrick Springs; 6 grandchildren, Barran Harbour, Brian Harbour, Sandy Goad, Lisa Nowlin, Marty Taylor and Amy Helms; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elizabeth Goard of Collinsville.
Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor will be held Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church with Pastor David Westmoreland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home.
