Mrs. Iris Hall Flowers

Mrs. Iris Hall Flowers, age 78 of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at her home. She was born in Stella, Virginia on May 28, 1936 to the late Wilbur S. and Gladys Spencer Hall. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by a sister, Ramona King. She was a member of Preston Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday School and was very devout in her faith. She was artistic and enjoyed monogramming.

Mrs. Flowers is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Cleveland Flowers, Sr. of the home; one son, Robert Cleveland Flowers, Jr. and wife, Alicia F. Flowers of Summerfield, North Carolina; two daughters, Mary Catheryn Flowers Joyce and husband, Jay Joyce of Elkin, North Carolina, Joanie Elizabeth Flowers McPeak and husband, Stephen McPeak of Martinsville, Virginia; six grandchildren, Zachary McPeak, Bethany J. McPeak, Ashley McPeak Maguire, Karen Garraputa, Richard Garraputa and Dawn Rubas; three great-grandchildren, Emma Parrish, Clare Parrish and Rowen Maguire; one sister, Molly Dare Hall Witt of Martinsville, Virginia and Roger Lee Hall of Spencer, Virginia.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, Virginia with Rev. Alvin Wooters and Rev. Marty Furrow officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home. Burial in Patrick Memorial Gardens will be private.
