Mrs. Iris Lovenia White Hayden

Mrs. Iris Lovenia White Hayden, 88 of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday morning December 17, 2011 at Golden Living Center-Surry Community in Mt. Airy. Mrs. Hayden was born in Surry County, January 8, 1923 to the late Cephus William and Maggie Lee Rogers White. She was retired from Spencers Inc. and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. After she retired from Spencers she worked part time at the Mt. Airy News. She is survived by her husband, Robert Lloyd Hayden of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Doug Smith of Pilot Mountain; grandchildren, Kelly and Chad Motsinger of Pilot Mountain, Amanda and Christopher Cook of Rural Hall; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Carter Motsinger, Kennedy and Smith Cook; a sister, Erma Booker of Germanton; brothers and sister-in-law, Weldon White of Mt. Airy, Ronald and Dianna White of Pilot Mountain, Stuart White of Westfield. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hayden was preceded in death by three brothers, Roger, Vernon and Aldon White and two sisters-in-law, Theo and Jane White. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Mark A. Reece, Jr. and Rev. Kermit Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
