Mrs. Irona "Cricket" Fain Westmoreland, 94 of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born on June 1, 1919 in Stokes County to the late Columbus Flenoy and Mary Elizabeth Hooker Fain. Mrs. Westmoreland retired from Adams-Millis and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jimmy Hill of Winston Salem; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sue Westmoreland of Mt. Airy; grandchildren and spouses, Andy and Kara Westmoreland, Kevin and Renee Westmoreland, Hope and Danny Lineberry all of Mt. Airy; Brian and Ivalisa Hill Winston Salem, Ben and Jennifer Hill of Lexington and Barry and Tracy Hill of Winston Salem; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Marie Scott of Mt. Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, Rayford and Elsie Fain of King; a special niece, Debbie Chilton of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Westmoreland was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Benton Westmoreland; two sisters, Beatrice Harrell and Marjorie Lee and two brothers, Ralph and Amos Fain. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Alex Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM where the body will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
