Mrs. Jacqueline "Jackie" Kinzer Sawyers

Mrs. Jacqueline "Jackie" Kinzer Sawyers, age 81, widow of Mr. Lacy H. Sawyers, Sr. of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born January 13, 1930 in Surry County, NC to the late William Saunders and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Barker Kinzer. Mrs. Sawyers was a homemaker and a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Jerry and Carolyn Sawyers of Mt. Airy, Billy and Dwaine Sawyers of Pilot Mountain, Lacy H. Sawyers, Jr. of Mt. Airy and Gregory K and Lorrie Sawyers of Shoals; nine grandchildren and two spouses, Beth and Brian Gossett, Trevis and Wendy Sawyers, Blake Sawyers, Kelsey Sawyers, Brooke Badgett, Aaron Sawyers and Alexander Sawyers, and Jacob Sawyers and Joshua Sawyers, four great grandchildren, Melissa Gossett, Lazarus Gossett and Brian Gossett and Nicole Sawyers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Will Ray and Clarene Kinzer of Mt. Airy, Robert "Bob" and Magdalene Kinzer of Winston Salem, Roger and Wanda Kinzer of Greensboro; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Sawyers was preceded in death by sister, Wada Bolin. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Bannertown Baptist Church with Rev. Mickey Cogdill and Rev. Milton Sewell officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bannertown Baptist Church, 1834 Westfield, Rd, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family also request that any food donations be made to the Foothills Food Pantry, 233 Cooper St., Dobson, NC 27017. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy will be assisting the Sawyers Family.
