Mrs. Jan Denise Gates Tomlin, age 65, of Dobson, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 31, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born December 9, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late James Gates and Merlyn Frances Trager. Mrs. Tomlin was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Heather Lynn and Christopher Dolph and Ashley Michelle Tomlin; her son and daughter-in-law, Joshua Shane and Jessica Olivia Wright; grandchildren, Austin Tyler Wright, Tyler Allen Halstead and Aaron Randall Wright; sisters, Priscilla Arms, Darrell McNeill and Lisa Peeler, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Dewitt Tomlin, and grandson, Caleb Lineberry Wright. A memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Second Chance Church at 2:00 PM with Reverend Terry Coe officiating.
