Mrs. Janie Wood Wright

Mrs. Janie Wood Wright, age 84, of Dobson, NC, passed away on Saturday May 11, 2013 at Central Continuing Care of Mt. Airy, NC. She was born in Surry Co. on September 8, 1928 to the late Richard and Pearl Reece Wood. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Rev. John Henry Wright; three brothers Rev. Bob Wood, Jesse Wood, and Bill Wood; great-grandson Jayden Wright. Mrs. Wood was a retired CNA, a homemaker and was a member of Day Spring Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Amy and Don Sprinkle of Dobson; three sons and daughters-in-law Johnny Wayne Wright Sr. and Becky Wright of Winston Salem, Jerry and Gina Wright of Lexington, Jimmy and Kathy Wright of Lexington; eleven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Coy and Carolyn Wood of Dobson; two sisters-in-law Georgia Wood, and Patricia Wood both of Dobson. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday May 14, 2013 at Day Spring Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Roger Pickett, Rev. Ricky Burcham will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Day Spring Baptist Church on Tuesday May 14, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. until the time of her service at 2:00 P.M.. Moody-Davis Funeral Home of Dobson is serving the Wright family.
