Mrs. Jeannine Nowlin Puckett

Mrs. Jeannine Nowlin Puckett, age 82 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was born in Patrick County on April 2, 1929 to the late Walter G. Nowlin and Gladys Susan Gilbert Nowlin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by her husband, James S. "Jimmy" Puckett, and one sister, Letitia Hunter. She was a member of Creasey's Chapel United Methodist Church where she had been president of the Women's Club; and had been a faithful volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years. She had retired from the A.S.C.S. (Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service).
Mrs. Puckett is survived by one brother-in-law, Russell "Perch" Hunter, III of Eden, North Carolina; two nieces, Dr. Ann Fulcher of Richmond and Tammy Knight of Charlotte, North Carolina; one nephew, Russell "Rusty" Hunter, IV of Booneville, North Carolina; and a special caregiver, Tanya Turner of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mrs. Puckett will be held Friday, September 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Mike Hundley officiating. Burial will follow in the Creasey's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Creasey's Chapel United Methodist Church Women's Club, c/o Jennifer Brown, 144 Community Lane, Stuart, Virginia 24171.
