Mrs. Josephine Mabe Puckett

Mrs. Josephine Mabe Puckett, age 81, formerly of Lawsonville, passed away on July 14, 2007 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Stokes County on February 15, 1926 to the late Lester and Nannie Lawson Mabe. Mrs. Puckett was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Ward Puckett, a sister, Gladys Mabe and three brothers, Moir, Curtis, and Dennis Mabe. Mrs. Puckett was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. She was a member of Lawsonville Church of God.
Mrs. Puckett is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Judy Puckett of Danbury, NC and a daughter and son-in-law Jeanette and Robert "Butch" Mitchell of Stuart. Four grandchildren and their spouses, Ava Mitchell and Jud Brown, Robert L. Mitchell III, Lee and Angie Puckett, Gwen and Doug Hawkins and seven great grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mrs. Puckett will be Wednesday at 11:00AM at the Lawsonville Church of God conducted by Rev. Tim Campbell and Rev. Rick Brewer. Burial will be at the Snow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart on Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00PM and other times at the homes of her son Leon Puckett and her daughter Jeanette Mitchell.
