Mrs. Josephine Elizabeth Nelson Tucker

Mrs. Josephine Elizabeth Nelson Tucker, age 88, who was a resident of the Landmark Center in Stuart, and formerly of Lawsonville, North Carolina, passed away Monday, June 18, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy, North Carolina. She was born in Stokes County, North Carolina to the late W. C. and Sarah Young Nelson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Euell Tucker, and two brothers, Woodrow and Charlie Nelson.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Donald Dalton of Stuart; three grandchildren, Darrell Dalton, Mark Allen Dalton and Donna Dalton; and five great-grandchildren, Mindy Hamm, Mandy Hamm, Meghan Dalton, Katlin Dalton and Sarah Dalton.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tucker will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Bernard Handy and Rev. Curtis Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Hard Bank Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of her daughter, Mary Dalton, at 4435 Salem Highway, Stuart.
