Mrs. Josie Irene Cruise Belcher

Mrs. Josie Irene Cruise Belcher, age 94 of Laurel Fork passed away Friday at her home. She was born on Sept. 7, 1918 in Patrick County to the late John Robert Cruise and Sally Turner Cruise. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Arlie Belcher; a son, Leon Belcher; two daughters, Lorna Pauline Belcher, Carlene Jean Hylton; three grandchildren, Debbie Quesenberry, Joe Quesenberry, Brenda Hylton; three brothers, Jessie, James, and Hoy Cruise; and three sisters, Emma Helms, Mary Pendleton, and Ruth Hylton. Mrs. Belcher was a member of Conner's View Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter and son in law, Sylvia and James Turman of Laurel Fork; 11 Grandchildren, Gary Quesenberry, Terry Quesenberry, Pat Turman, Matt Turman, Jim Turman, Janet Williams, Wanda Ayers, Michael Hylton, Kathy Gummelt, Sandy Ayers, Wayne Hylton; 24 great grandchildren, 35 great great grandchildren; one sister, Clemmie Martin of Woolwine; and two brothers, Alfred Cruise of Bassett, and Elmer Cruise of Texas.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Conner's View Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Edward Bowman and Rev. Kevin Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
