Mrs. Joyce Hill Parker

Mrs. Joyce Hill Parker, 80, of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Parker was born in Surry County on February 14, 1936 to the late Willie Moore Hill and Bettie Puckett Hill. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed. Mrs. Parker is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Annette Parker Collins and husband Charles, of Galax, and Judy Parker Payne and husband Mike, of Mt. Airy; six grandchildren, Pierce Collins, Amelia Collins, and Parker Collins, all of Galax, Hannah Payne, Brady Payne and wife Jasmine, and Dylan Payne, all of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Arless Parker. Funeral Services will be held at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11AM with Rev. Todd Tucker officiating with entombment to follow at Skyline Memory Gardens in the Mausoleum. Family will receive friends on Wednesday night from 6-8 at the funeral home. Flowers may be accepted, or donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospitals, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
