Mrs. Juanita Foley Burmeister, age 87 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on January 16, 1925 to the late William Lee and Ella Lawless Foley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burmeister was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy O. Burmeister; four brothers, McCoy, Herman, Eugene and W.L. Foley; and two sisters, Vera Foley Morrison and Gladys Foley Burkins. She had attended Blue Ridge Mission School, Oak Hill Academy, Woolwine High School, and graduated from Stuart High School in 1943. After graduating, she moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she worked for General Motors. After retirement, she and her husband moved back to Patrick County. She was a longtime member of Sycamore Baptist Church, a loving wife, devoted caregiver, sister and friend.
Mrs. Burmeister is survived by two sisters-in-law, Pauline Foley and Geraldine Foley Thomas, both of Stuart; five nieces; six nephews; special friends, Annette Rorrer, Ella Sue Joyce and Elsie Adams; and a longtime friend, Gloeda Branscome of Abingdon, Maryland.
Funeral services for Mrs. Burmeister will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Sycamore Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Melton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
