Mrs. Juanita Betsey "Betty" Williams Rogers, age 73 of Richmond, passed away Monday, September 4, 2006 at Chippenham Memorial Hospital in Richmond. She was born in Patrick County on March 27, 1933 to the late John P. and Gracie Rorrer Williams. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Lee Williams and Robert Burns "Bob" Williams; two nephews, Delano Tatum and Timmy Quesinberry; and two nieces, Kathy Padgett and Judy W. Lord Mabry.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by her husband of 49 years, Clifford E. Rogers of Richmond; five sisters, Mary Fern Baldwin of Hillsville, Bernice Shaffer of Ridgeway, Tecora Quesinberry of Stuart, India "Dot" Haynes of Mount Airy, North Carolina and Gennell Williams of Fieldale; three brothers, John A. Williams of Jessup, Maryland, Frank D. Williams of Sparta, North Carolina and Joel Patman "Pat" Williams of Elkin, North Carolina; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rogers will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Ralph Adams and Rev. Sebert Rorrer officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery, Trot Valley Road, Stuart. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home of a sister, Gennell Williams, 3764 The Great Road, Fieldale, Virginia across from Bassett High School.
