Mrs. Judy Carolyn Jarrell Johnson

Mrs. Judy Carolyn Jarrell Johnson, age 66, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 19, 2018 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Johnson was born in Surry County on August 23, 1951 to the late Rev. Grover Quincy Jarrell and Mary Lou Puckett Jarrell. She was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lawrence Wayne Johnson of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Allen Griffith of Lowgap; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Mary Ann Johnson of Mount Airy, and Gerald and Danielle Johnson of Cana; six grandchildren, Amber and Cory Brown of Thurmond, Ashana Griffith and A. J. Griffith both of Lowgap, Forrest Johnson and Laken Johnson both of Cana, and Luke Johnson of Mount Airy; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Brown and Lacey Brown both of Thurmond; and a brother, Johnny Wayne Jarrell, Sr. of Lowgap. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. Grover Hasten Jarrell; and a nephew, Johnny Wayne Jarrell, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Blue Ridge Baptist Church at 2:00pm with Rev. Donald Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday night, January 20, 2018 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 6:00 – 8:00pm.
