Mrs. Katherine King Flippin

Mrs. Katherine King Flippin, age 86 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006 at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She was born in Patrick County on June 16, 1920 t the late Raymond and Annie Anderson King. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flippin was preceded in death by her husband, John Milton Flippin, one sister, Elsie Goins, and two brothers, Clyde and Clinton King. She was a longtime member of Stuart Baptist Church, was a trustee, Sunday school secretary for over 35 years, and a charter member of the handbell choir of the church. She was also a lifelong nurse for Dr. Hopkins, Dr. Paarfus and Dr. Kastretsios.
Mrs. Flippin is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Billie Sue and Barry Morrison of Woolwine and Joyce Ann and Lou Orban of Hope Mills, North Carolina; four granddaughters and their spouses, Michelle and Jonathan Love, Andrea and Andrew Morris, Pamela and Andy Doremous and Amy and Kenny Brady; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Flippin will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Stuart Baptist Church with Dr. Clint Hopkins and Rev. Jim Brackett officiating. Burial will follow in the Stuart Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. If desired, memorials may be made to the Stuart Baptist Church Handbell Choir, P.O.
