Mrs. Kathleen Gilley Davis

Mrs. Kathleen Marion Gilley Davis, age 84, of Turkey Ford Rd, Dobson, widow of Calvin Davis, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday afternoon, June 28, 2011 at the Forsyth Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Davis was born July 18, 1926 in Surry Co. to the late Walter Erastus and Pearl Lee (Long) Gilley. She was retired from Brown Wooten Mills and was a member of New Home Church of Christ. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Martha Davis, Mt. Airy; granddaughter & grandson-in-law, Alan & Angie Freeman, Mt. Airy; Grandson and Fiancée, Seth Davis & Renee Lewis, Walkertown & High Point; sister, Marie Shelton, Mt. Airy; sister & brother-in-law, Bill & Jackie Bennett, Mt. Airy; sister-in-law, Dorothy Mitchell, Dobson; sister-in-law, Lavern Snow, Dobson; half sister-in-law, Gladys Hawks, Mt. Airy. Seven great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Bethany, Elijah, Abigail, Lydia, Alexander, & Rachel Freeman. One step great-grandson, Joseph Freeman. The family would like to thank all the staff at: Mt. Airy Dialysis Center, Y-Veddi Transportation, Arcadia HOME of Mt. Airy and Meals-on-Wheels. Also special thanks to Vernon and Paula Norman for being such caring and helping neighbors. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Dale Davis. The family will receive friends Friday morning 12:30-2:00 at New Home Church with service starting at 2 p.m. conducted by: Rev.
