Mrs. Kitty Sue Holt Willard

Mrs. Kitty Sue Holt Willard, age 70 of Sandy Ridge, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Pioneer Community Hospital of Stokes. She was born in Patrick County on January 8, 1942 to the late Billy Hodges and Lena Holt. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Willard was preceded in death by one son, Mike Lawson; one sister, Yvonne Soyring; and two brothers, Billy Holt and Ray Holt. She had retired from Bassett Walker Industries, had been a housekeeper at the Landmark Center, and volunteered with the Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church Food Ministry.
Mrs. Willard is survived by her husband of 41 years, Charles W. Willard; three daughters, Karen "Cookie" Gibson of Eden, North Carolina, Tracy McBride of Sandy Ridge and Sarah Willard of Spencer; seven grandchildren, Tashia Cobbler, Josh Lawson, Tabitha Fulton, Cody Willard, Courtney Willard, Austin Willard and Gage Gibson; nine great-grandchildren, Shine Cobbler, Ethan Cobbler, Tyler Cobbler, Leia Cobbler, Aidan Fulton, Bella Fulton, L.J. Fulton, Ellyssa Willard and Gage Lawson; and one sister, Carlene Justice of Stuart.
A memorial service for Mrs. Willard will be held Friday at 6:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home with Rev. Bernard Handy, Brother Billy Thomas and Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home. If desired, memorials may be made to the Kitty H.
