Mrs. Laura H. Miller

Mrs. Laura Hutchens Miller, age 83 of Dobson passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday morning December 24, 2007. She was born in Surry County on November 17, 1924 to the late Johnnie A. Hutchens and the late Maude Hamlin Hutchens. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Sanford Paris Miller, and an infant daughter Glenda A. Miller. She was retired from Copeland Elementary School Cafeteria with over thirty years of service. She was a member of Beulahland Baptist Church, in Pilot Mountain, NC. Surviving are two daughters Shelby Jean Miller of Ararat, NC and Dana and Hal Shelton (son-in-law) of Madison, NC; by one son and daughter-in-law Rev. Roger and Linda Miller of Ararat, NC; by four grandchildren Rev. Ritchie Miller, Leah Miller, Todd Tucker, Misty Newell; by eight great grandchildren; one sister Sadie M. Hutchens of Dobson. Funeral services will be held Thursday December 27, 2007 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral in Dobson with burial to follow in the Level Cross United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Roger Miller and Rev. Ritchie Miller will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 P.M. and other times at the home of her son Rev. Roger Miller.
