Mrs. Leah Christine Collins White, age 86, of Dobson, NC passed away on Wednesday evening June 26, 2013 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, NC. She was born in Surry Co. on February 15, 1927 to the late William Andrew Collins and the late Nina Jessup Collins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Thomas White; son James Thomas White; sister Rachel Myers; brothers Warren Collins, Hal Collins, Cecil Collins, James Walter Collins. She was a homemaker and member of Salem Fork Baptist Church. Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law Nina "Bunny" and James Carlton Brown of Elkin, eight grandchildren David Brown of Elkin, Garrett Brown of Elkin, Michael and Megan Brown of Pinnacle, Brandon and Aimee Brown of Centertown, Arkansas, Matthew and Emily Cave of Dobson, Sally and Jamie Caviness of Greenville, NC, Emily and Will Johnson of Dobson, Ashley and Shannon Davis of Ennice, NC; sister Versie Melton of State Road, sister-in-law Sarah Collins of Mt. Airy, brother-in-law Ted Holyfield of Elkin, sixteen great-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews and their families. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 29, 2013 at Salem Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Merritt and Rev. Van Brindle conducting. Her cremains will be buried at a later date. The Family will receive friends at Salem Fork Baptist Church on Saturday June 29, 2013 from 12:30 PM until time of the memorial service in the chapel of Salem Fork Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Salem Fork Baptist Church Cemetery Fund C/O Becky Haymore 282 Crossroads Ch. Rd.
