Mrs. Leila Ann Sprinkle Mayes

Mrs. Leila Ann Sprinkle Mayes, age 70, of Westfield, NC passed away on Thursday morning March 7, 2013 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born in Surry County on April 09, 1942 to the late Culbert Craig and Mary Magdalene Calahan Sprinkle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Phillip Ray Mayes; and brother Bill Sprinkle. She was a homemaker and member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Surviving are her three daughters and two sons-in-law Becky Lewis of Benson, NC, Debbie and Doug Matthews of King, NC, Lisa and Scott Hinson of King, NC; two sons and daughters-in-law Thomas and Marty Mayes of Kernersville, NC, Phillip and Kathy Mayes of Yadkinville, NC; thirteen grandchildren Travis Templeton, Kelly Hutchins, Ashley Robbins, Michelle McClamrock, Josh McClamrock, Michael Miller, Daniel Miller, Alyssa Hinson, Kayli Hinson, Matthew Mayes, Chris Mayes, Lydia Mayes, Tara Mayes; one great grandchild Bethany Templeton; five sisters and four brothers-in-law Lucille Riggans of Dobson, Linda and Curt Simpson of Dobson, Iris and Dirk Apt of Lexington, Doris and Steve Pratt of Dobson, Jackie and Richard Collins of Dobson; three brothers and sisters-in-law Frank and Kathlene Sprinkle of Dobson, Craig and Norma Sprinkle of Dobson, Ronnie and Kathy Sprinkle of Dobson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday March 9, 2013 at Cross Roads Baptist Church of Dobson, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jeff Wall and Rev. Jack Darida will conduct the services. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the services. The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Leila Sprinkle Mayes Funeral Fund C/O Debbie Matthews 107 Merrydale Dr. King, NC 27021. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home and to Mountain Valley Living Center.
