Mrs. Lena Earlene Hooker Lawson Collins

Mrs. Lena Earlene Hooker Lawson Collins, age 78 of Pilot Mountain, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Patrick County on October 27, 1937 to the late Arthur R. and Frances Marie Collins Hooker. She retired from Spencer’s and was a member and treasurer of Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Joseph “J.B.” Ayers of Pinnacle and a son and daughter-in-law, James and Tina Lawson of Pilot Mountain; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a sister, Louise Bridges. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her first husband, James Ray Lawson; her second husband, Coy Collins; two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at State Line Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Jimmy Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
