Mrs. Lettie Mae Loftis Patterson

Mrs. Lettie Mae Loftis Patterson, 103, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Surry County on July 2, 1914 to the late Ephraim Jackson Loftis, Sr. and Willie Emma Shelton Loftis. Mrs. Patterson was a homemaker and a member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by grandchildren, Louis Dexter Smith, Jr. of Mt. Airy, Michael Lee Smith and Misty of Westfield; six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Arnold Patterson; a daughter, Gaye Loftis Patterson Smith; a granddaughter, Lisa Gaye Smith; a brother, E.J. “June” Loftis. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert McCrary officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 AM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Haymore Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 319 Rockford St., Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
